1st XI Football Season Report

1st XI Football

With so many changes to the first-eleven from last season, this transitional season had the potential to be a difficult one and a thumping 5-0 defeat to Bournemouth Collegiate in the ISAF Cup looked ominous. However, the team rallied and with the return of a number of more senior players, we followed this with a great win against Frensham Heights 6-3. More resounding wins against Ibstock Place and the City of London Freemans followed, before a hard fought out 4-4 draw against City of London School rounded off a very impressive start to the season.

Following the half term break, a win against Harrodians 4-1 separated defeats to St Georges, Weybridge and Freemans and we ended the season with two wins against Bedales (with 7 first team players missing) and a memorable victory against Kingston Grammar, the first in living memory!

Many thanks to Sam S, who has led the team superbly throughout the season and who will be sorely missed and Callum K who deputised for Sam and contributed with some well-taken goals. The spine of the team, Victor, Lazlo. Josh, Matteo and Vassily, ably supported by James, Nassim, Matt, Valentin, and Min Seung grew throughout the season and this has resulted in us becoming a difficult team to score against, whilst continuing to create chances in attack.

We are all looking forward to continued improvement in the New Year and creating more memorable results!
