1st Team – Mrs McCabe
The 1st team have had a successful season of netball winning half of the matches played. The first match of the season was a cup match and most of the first team were unavailable due to mock exams but that didn’t stop us fielding a team many of whom who were in Y10. Overall, we have had lots of rotation this year in the first team but the girls have shown their versatility and played in some unfamiliar positions. The highlight of the season was an impressive win vs Hurtwood House winning a hugely impressive 40-9. The first team was captained by Daisy M who has shown true commitment and leadership to the team with her positive attitude and enthusiasm. Special mentions go to: Laura C, Alisha K for their superb defending this season. Gabi D, Tilda K, Sophia S for their tremendous shooting. Phoebe B for her brilliant versatility. Overall, a successful season well done all!

2nd Team – Miss Kendall
The 2nd team have had a great season of netball playing in several fixtures and showing excellent perseverance and tenacity. No matter the situation the team were in, if it were opposition or the weather, they did not complain and played all the way through to the end. The team showed great defensive work with Hana and Josephine in the circle getting interceptions and rebounds. The mid court consisted of Hollie, Anna P, River, Hattie, and Kiera D who worked well off the centre pass, got into space, and held the ball well. In the shooting circle we had the rotation of Eden, Serah, and Charlotte G. They showed great vision, of getting into space and fantastic shooting. Both Charlotte G and Hollie have shown a positive attitude and an attribute to the school for their commitment to netball. A fantastic season for them all – well done girls!

U15A – Miss Cheesman
The U15A Netball team have thoroughly enjoyed their season of netball despite some ups and downs along the way. They have all developed significantly, both with their individual skills and overall game play. Their drives onto the ball and tactical understanding have improved considerably, and this was evident throughout the term. The teamwork and resilience have been incredibly strong and something they should be hugely proud of. The highlight of the season was the superb 34-9 win against Priory School and coming 2nd overall in the St Teresa’s Netball Tournament.
The team has been captained by Maia for majority of the season and she has always displayed a positive attitude and kept the team going. The whole team have displayed a fantastic attitude and real versatility when on court which is great to see. Other mentions go to Poppy, Carmen, Krystal, Lily, Shauna, Flo, Ruby, Emma, and Lucy who have given it there all and had an enjoyable season. Overall, great efforts all round, and thank you girls for such a positive approach.

U15B – Miss Mustafa
It was a pleasure coaching the girls this season. I saw great improvement throughout the term, with regards to skill, technique, and overall attitude. The girls always came in with a smile on their face and were ready to learn new drills and games. Isla, Lily, and Philippa were always enthusiastic when attending training and playing matches, volunteering to sub for other teams and lead drills. During the term, the team worked on particular areas that I would determine based on their match play, such as giving options for the person releasing the ball, the centre-pass throw, and shooting. I took the girls often for 3-hour long training sessions on a Wednesday afternoon, which mostly consisted of fitness workouts (usually beginning with an obstacle course of some sort) and followed by mini-tournaments. I found that these sessions were often tiring, so I would play music and structure the afternoon well, so that the girls remained motivated throughout. I saw improvement in Chloe and Annette’s gameplay, specifically when defending and marking their opponents and getting into space when necessary. Issy and Emily contributed well to the overall motion of the team, working well with their team-mates. I think with a further boost in motivation and persistence, the girls could see even more improvement in their netball.

U14A – Mrs Ellis
I am extremely pleased with the girls for their hard work this term and everything that we have achieved as a netball team. The girls have worked hard in training and there has been a good level of competition between the students for the U14A and U14B team. While I have not been able to be at their training sessions on Tuesdays, I have been impressed with their efforts, drive for success and ability to work together as a team during their fixtures on a Wednesday. The girls have had many wins of note this term and I am so proud of them for how well they have done. It would be unfair to highlight any individual students as everyone has worked hard and has something to be proud of. I have absolutely loved being the U14 Netball Coach this term and I wish the girls the very best next season.

U14B – Miss Cheesman
The U14B team have had an action-packed netball season with fixtures against numerous schools. They have had some close matches throughout, but their biggest success of the season was vs Priory School resulting in a 19-5 win. The girls have always demonstrated great resilience during matches and their teamwork and communication has been strong throughout. Throughout the season they have also been enhancing their skill set ranging from working the ball down the court effectively to ensuring that they are defending their opposition closely.
A huge well done to all and you have all made brilliant contributions to the team throughout the season.

U13A – Mrs Golam
The girls enjoyed a busy netball season against several other schools in the Surrey area. This year, the group has been restructured from last year’s A team and the players have worked hard to build their game play, adjusting to each other’s strengths. Consequently, they showed resilience and versatility. A strong sense of camaraderie prevailed, where everyone felt free to give their input and to negotiate positions they would prefer to play or try out. We had a mixture of students with various level of experience in netball. This is a young team, which is still finding its bearings and hopefully, we will see more wins in the future. Although we did not have many wins this year, the players showed positivity at the most challenging of times and always tried their very best. Special mention to Amber M, Michelle O, Alisa D, Darcie S and ‘magic hands’ Millie. The games showed the need for more rigour at various level and, certainly, more training will improve our attacking and defensive skills. It was fabulous to find Amber’s new talent at scoring goals this year. Although new at the game, Michelle showed great potential as a centre and defender.
As the team becomes more cohesive and the skills are consolidated, next season will be more productive in terms of score. All in all, the sessions allowed the girls to strengthen their teamwork and leadership spirit.

U13B – Mrs Jennings
The U13s seemed to greatly enjoy their half-term of Netball and showed great resilience in their matches despite some very inclement weather. Most girls had played netball before, so the coaching sessions were spent reinforcing awareness of rules and techniques and developing their skills further, which the girls embraced with great enthusiasm and energy.
They successfully transferred their skills to the frequent matches, mostly away, where they did BHS proud by displaying great team spirit and fairness. Captains and Vice-captains reliably took responsibility for the kit and warm-up, which was great to witness. I can’t wait to see how they take to Cricket, as it’s been a pleasure accompanying them and seeing them grow in sportsmanship and teamwork.

U12A – Miss Grieg
The girls had a highly successful season and developed immensely, both as a team and as individual players. Throughout the season the girls improved their knowledge and understanding of the game, allowing them to work well as a group and bring away many wins. All the girls seemed excited for next year’s netball season and hopefully will continue their love for netball for many years to come. Lilah W and Amelia H consistently worked well in attack while Millie G and Heidi L were strong in defense, staying resilient against strong teams. Georgiana D, Ella R, Georgia T, Scarlett W, Emily W and Charlotte O displayed constant determination throughout all games in the mid court allowing the whole team to come together throughout the season. The girls showed up to every training and game with enthusiasm and excitement to play together and learn and perfect new skills. Many of the girls also tried new positions to challenge themselves and to further develop their skills and overall match play.
