U12 – Mr McAlister

The U12 Cricket team have had a positive first season of senior school cricket winning three matches. The team have worked hard during the term to develop their batting, bowling and fielding skills and this had been evident in the performances towards the end of the year. A number of the squad are new to cricket, and I commend them on their development. The boys always approach sessions with a positive mindset and are keen to learn.

The team have been captained by Henry R who has performed superbly with both the bat and ball, producing match winning performances on many occasions. Henry is highly supportive of the players around him and has led from the front. Henry finishes as the leading U12 runscorer and wicket taker for the term. Erald M has kept wicket all season, showing real promise and commitment. He has scored crucial runs opening the innings alongside Henry. Peter R has also significantly contributed with bat and ball. He has shown real composure throughout many of his innings and added many runs to the tally. Keegan S-T has evolved into an effective strike bowler and powerful batsman, taking on board advice and giving support to his team. Other players to mention are Junior S, Raphael W and Dominic D who have all made significant contributions to the teams success.

I hope to see the team continue to develop next year and they should use the winter to work on individual skills.

U13 – Mr Stone

The U13 cricket embarked on their second season. With the team wondering how they would progress following a good start to their careers last year. The theme of the season was increasing bowling pace and “playing the smart game”, which the boys took on well and developed as a result.

Throughout the season we saw some excellent work from Josh E, Charlie M and Robert M with bat and ball. Charlie M continued to be safe hands at the stumps and looks set to retain this spot in future years. Oscar continued to take many wickets throughout the season and proves a tough test for any batsman. Two breakthrough stars of the season were Kurt G and Harry M. Kurt consistent with bat and ball, Harry developing into a strong batter with an eye for the boundary. The results were hard to come by at times with some strong opposition played. I thank the team for their consistent commitment and endeavours throughout this term. They have been a pleasure to lead and coach.

U14 – Mr Todd

Box Hill U14 Cricket team have had a mixed season, with results not fully going their way for the bulk of the season. The great British summertime has given Box Hill some challenging conditions to deal with along the way. Ethan M has led the way with the ball, taking a flurry of wickets, whilst Leon C has provided some exciting leg spin in support. Adam G continues to impress with his raw pace bowling, as does Zach S and Ben B.

With the bat, Freddie A tops the charts for the third season in a row. A carefully planned 49 being the highlight of the season. Cameo roles from Dan R and Ronnie C have provided exciting batting in pursuit of opposition totals.

A big well done to Charlie T, Tom L and Cam H who have given their best throughout the season.

U15 Mr Cook & Mr Floyd

The U15's have faced their toughest opposition yet this term, the weather. In a significantly rain impacted season, this group of young men have persevered brilliantly. Their dedication to training and improvement has been excellent, despite the uncertainty of the conditions. The games that they have managed to play have been hard fought and competitive, with some stand out individual performances and a general sense of camaraderie and enjoyment shared by all. They should be proud of the progress they've made and I hope they continue to enjoy this beautiful game for many years to come.
